چکیده
Abstract The molten salt reactor (MSR) concept is among the Generation IV designs considered feasible for providing clean, safe, sustainable, and economical energy supplies to world's population. depletion of fuel a small modular fluoride (sm-FMSR) with closed cycle based on integral (IMSR) has been investigated using Serpent. Three fueling schemes control Serpent cycles have simulated compared: step (SF), continuous all fission products (FPs) accumulating in system (CFA), insoluble FPs separated from (CFS). Sm-FMSRs SF CFA require similar quantities "top-up" fuel, consume (fissile) amounts, result isotopic concentrations if keff kept within range. However, separation circulating CFS gains large reactivity worth due removal FP poisons. This allows reduction enrichment both initial total top-up leads savings considerable fissile quantity MSR spent fuel. calculations manual arithmetic adjustment built-in settings before start every calculation three schemes. Implementation additional flow features changing material volumes constants would facilitate simulation process allow more realistic simulations circulation.

Molten-salt Reactor Chemistry
This document summarizes the large program of chemical research and development which led to selection of fuel and coolant compositions for the Molten-Salt Reactor Experiment (MSRE) and for subsequent reactors of this type. Chemical behavior of the LiF-BeFrZrFrUF4 fuel mixture and behavior of fission products during power operation of MSRE are presented. A discussion of the chemical reactions w...
متن کاملThe Molten Salt Reactor Adventure
A personal history of the development of molten-salt reactors in the United States is presented. The initial goal was an aircraft propulsion reactor, and a molten fluoride-fueled Aircraft Reactor Experiment was operated at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1954. In 1956, the objective shifted to civilian nuclear power, and reactor concepts were developed using a circulating UF4-ThF4 fuel, graphi...
متن کاملThe Multiregion Molten - Salt Reactor Concept
The molten-salt reactor (MSR) concept is one of the most promising systems for the realisation of transmutation. The objective is the development of a transmutational technique along with a device implementing it, which yield higher transmutational efficiencies than that of the known procedures. The procedure is the multi-step transmutation, in which the transformation is carried out in several...

The Advanced High-Temperature Reactor is a new reactor concept that combines four existing technologies in a new way: (1) coated-particle graphite-matrix nuclear fuels (traditionally used for helium-cooled reactors), (2) Brayton power cycles, (3) passive safety systems and plant designs from liquid-metal-cooled fast reactors, and (4) low-pressure molten-salt coolants with boiling points far abo...

The PUREX technology based on aqueous processes is currently the leading reprocessing technology in nuclear energy systems. It seems to be the most developed and established process for light water reactor fuel and the use of solid fuel. However, demand driven development of the nuclear system opens the way to liquid fuelled reactors, and disruptive technology development through the applicatio...
